Announcement Left at East Gate

Cosimo is announcing that it is suspending the distribution of the book, Left at East Gate, by Larry Warren and Peter Robbins.

Left at East Gate had originally been published by Marlowe & Company in 1997 and had received widespread praise from UFO experts and others. This book describes what some have called the most significant military UFO incident in history, that took place at RAF Bentwaters, a NATO base in the United Kingdom in 1980.  Recently, however, it has been brought to our attention that some of the experiences described in this book may be inaccurate or embellished.

Cosimo is committed to publishing both new and out-of-print books that offer enduring value.  We, at Cosimo, will continue to do so in order to inform and inspire our readers. As part of our mission, we specialize in making rare and unique out-of-print books available again, as we did with Left at East Gate.  As an independent publisher, we look for quality books in a wide range of genres from public affairs and personal development to history, philosophy and niche subjects such as ufology, and then make a determination whether these books fit well within our catalog. At this moment, we cannot be certain that Left at East Gate still meets this standard. Consequently, we have decided to suspend the distribution of this book, until the situation surrounding it has been clarified to our satisfaction.

  1. Can you go into any further detail on what information was brought to your attention that made you doubt the integrity of the story? Thank you!

    1. He's been exposed as a fraud and has been threatening various people too. Peter Robbins and many others have cut all ties with him.

  4. I certainly hope that Cosimo will make this a PERMANENT removal. The lies have been proven be can be supported with hard evidence.
Warren's co--author has been made aware, and seen much of this evidence, and has made a statement that he agrees that the title be PERMANENTLY REMOVED.

    1. Well I know Larry. I was with him before the book came out. The co=author is a jerk. I was with him when he was trying to get his life together after he left the army. I saw the video's listen to the tapes , they did a few shows on it. As well as many people -army people came out with the truth that it really happened. What a freak trying to attack him.

    2. he lied for 34 years and you don't know Larry. You met the man carrying his name. He is a career fraudster. Cosimo made the right decision to pull LAEG. Peter Robbins has removed Halt in Woodbridge also.

  5. Cosimo will be provided with concrete facts proving that Warren fabricated EVERYTHING!

The matter is now also being dealt with by the police regarding Warrens repeated threats and malicious communications.

  7. Peter Robbins addresses comments by Gary Heseltine

“For a controversial witness, Larry Warren appeared straightforward enough. He seemed to be answering the questions as best he could and didn't put on airs. If what he was saying was true, he had a lot of guts to come forward. If he was relating a delusion, or just plain lying, he certainly was good at it.”

And Gary, he wasn’t just good at it, he was the best. Perhaps an experienced police detective like you might have seen through some part of his self-assured initial account that I missed. But when someone is fully committed to intentionally deceiving you from the start, this is especially problematic, especially for a well-meaning, self-trained investigator inclined to trust someone who was so intensely and self-assuredly committed to their account of things.

    You write that I am

“either the world's worst judge of character or when some ill-judged questions, most of which hold little or no evidential credence in relation to LW's RFI involvement you chose to cut him loose to the gang of wolves with a malicious agenda (i.e. condemn him as a liar, a fraud, a conman first, then claim in the next breath that 'their aim was only to seek the truth!) or when the going got tough you cast him aside in a desperate attempt to save your professional reputation.”

First, the questions you refer to are not “ill judged.” They are not and if you take the time to look into them yourself you would find yourself coming to the same damned realizations I’ve been forced to acknowledge. Nor am I “the world’s worst judge of character.” Far from it. However when it came to ultimately falling into line with the now hopelessly intertwined nature of the true/untrue account I continued to encounter in our ongoing interviews, his stare-me-in-the-eyes insistence that he was telling the truth and nothing but the truth finally won me over. And I can tell you for an absolute fact that each member of that “the gang of wolves with a malicious agenda” you refer to started out as a supporter of Larry Warren, proud to know him and in the overwhelming majority of cases proud to call him a friend as well, if only on Facebook. If you dig deeper you will see where their malice really stems from.
